SASA Annual Scholarship Awards Presentation
and Monthly Luncheon Presented by IBERIABANK.

The Sarasota Area Sports Authority (SASA) will continue their luncheon series this May with speaker Todd Johnson, former Riverview High School Football standout and current NFL defensive back. SASA will also be presenting their annual College Scholarship awards during the luncheon. The luncheon will be held at the Hyatt Sarasota on Thursday, May 27, 2010 starting at noon. Registration will begin at 11:30am.

As a standout defensive back at Sarasota's Riverview High School, Todd Johnson was All-State and All-American as a senior, as well as setting the school record for the 110 hurdles. He continued his football career at the University of Florida where he started 33 out of 49 games and finished his career with 284 tackles and nine interceptions earning All-Southeastern Conference in his final three seasons at Florida. He was second-team All-SEC as senior, starting all 13 games, notching 88 tackles and two interceptions. Todd began is NFL career with the Chicago Bears as a defensive back in 2003 and then went on to play for the St. Louis Rams and most recently the Buffalo Bills.
